Oldmixon Hill Welcomes Fundraising Intern Lilia Cohen

Lilia Cohen developed a passion for social justice the summer of 2013 when she attended Brown University’s Leadership Institute where she took a class on human rights. Upon returning to Seattle, Lilia founded the Social Justice/Human Rights club at her high school — a group that has helped many students affect positive social change in their communities.

Lilia cultivated an interest in law through an internship at the Northwest Defender’s Association, an office of Public Defense. She was a three-year member of Youth and Government, an entirely youth run legislature where she honed her debate skills, drafted her own legislation and served as a House Representative and Committee Chair.

Lilia is a recent graduate of Seattle Academy and will attend Whitman College in the fall where she plans to study Politics.
