Oldmixon Hill Wins Seven Pollie Awards
April 11, 2013
Oldmixon Hill was awarded seven Pollies for excellence in political communications and public affairs by the American Association of Political Consultants.
The Pollie Awards, which honor the “Best of the Best” in political advertising and communications, were dubbed “the Oscars of political advertising” by Esquire magazine.
Oldmixon Hill received awards in the categories of Overall Campaigns, Internet, and Public Affairs and Issue Advocacy for work conducted during the 2012 elections.
Overall Campaigns – Special Election – Democrat: Ron Barber for Congress
Oldmixon Hill designed and implemented a complete online presence for the Ron Barber for Congress campaign. Our integrated approach created a cohesive look and feel for Barber across the web, including but not limited to his website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube channel and email communications. With Oldmixon Hill’s expertise, the Barber campaign was able to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars online, giving them the resources to compete for this hotly contested seat. Barber went on to win his Democratic primary and subsequent general special election, becoming the successor to Rep. Giffords in Arizona’s 8th district in June 2012.
Public Affairs and Issue Advocacy – Best Use of Voter Registration: Black Men Vote Website
A late entrant in the election cycle, Black Men Vote was planning to go on air in 48 hours and they had no web presence. This gave Oldmixon Hill approximately 36 hours to design, build and launch a website from scratch, during which time they designed and implemented the website BlackMenVote.org with a sleek design and clean layout that provided voters quick access to the information they needed to make sure they could vote on election day.
Landing Page – National Organization: Gabby PAC
Oldmixon Hill was tasked with creating a new brand, website and social media presence for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as she transitioned out of office. We created a cohesive brand for Rep. Giffords across all digital platforms, that would allow her to champion the issues she supports.
Landing Page – State Legislature – Democrat: Noel Frame for State House
In a crowded primary, Noel Frame cut through the noise with this landing page. Providing her supporters with a place to easily Like her campaign on Facebook, follow her on Twitter and sign up to get more involved. Oldmixon Hill’s landing page allowed Noel Frame to capture important contributions and signups, successfully launching her campaign.
Landing Page – Local/Municipal/Regional – Democrat: James Walsh for Pinal County Attorney
The James Walsh for Pinal County Attorney campaign required a lightweight solution for their website. Oldmixon Hill set them up with a landing page detailing James Walsh’s accomplishments as Pinal County Attorney and providing easy pathways to contribute and sign up for updates.
In addition to these awards, Oldmixon Hill received two honorable mentions for Statewide Independent Expenditure Campaign (Washington Values Care), and U.S. House Website – Democrat (Kyrsten Sinema for Congress).
